About Karate kids

ATA "Karate Kids" is a specialized program created exclusively for children. The Karate Kids classes are for children ages 7 through 13. The foundation of the Karate Kids curriculum is the education and development of life-skills such as positive mental attitude, high goal setting, perseverance, self-control and confidence.

Karate Kids training is designed to be fun and fulfilling for each student. This is because Taekwondo is an individual activity rather than a team sport. Therefore every student is an active and valuable participant in class. They work out with kids their own age and progress at their own pace.

The Karate Kids program is perfect for parents looking for an activity that is not just great exercise but that also teaches their school age children lessons they will use throughout their life. The way children learn and what motivates them is the reason we offer a program exclusively for children.

Since its introduction in 1986, the Karate Kids program has helped children all over the world learn Discipline, Self-Esteem, and Respect. By combining the Discipline of traditional martial arts, learning Respect through life skill development and the Self-Esteem gained through our unique reward system, your child will advance in the martial arts while reaching their fullest potential.

Since martial arts is an individual activity rather than a team sport, each child is an active and valuable participant in the class. They train with kids their own age and size under well supervised conditions while progressing at their own pace.

Life Skills Taught

Karate Kids are taught to have a positive mindset, to be able to set goals, show respect to each other and instructors, and have self-confidence.  Social skills, physical fitness, and building healthy habits for life are also a huge aspect of the Karate Kids program.

How they are taught

One of the central tenets of all forms of the martial arts is an absolute focus on self-discipline. Today's kids are so accustomed to receiving instant gratification that lessons in self-restraint and discipline aren't always easy to come by. Kids with a martial arts background, however, are continually reminded of the importance of self-discipline.  Karate Kids are taught as a whole group, small groups, and one-on-one.
